My first posting!

I decided on my bike ride the other day to put my Ironman training thoughts down....I have a few disclaimers before I begin my blogging. My blog is not an indication of how exciting I think my life is, or how interesting people think my life is to hear about. I also don't claim to be witty, funny or even a well-spoken writer! Here is why I started my blog:

During my training for Ironman Florida I find that I need something to keep me more motivated. During training I have lot of thoughts but nowhere to necessarily place them. I tried keeping a journal, even just of my training and if it weren't for my awesome coach Amanda Lovato who sends me my schedule, I wouldn't have a record of my training! Well, that's partially true, I did keep track of most of my training in Colorado, but since then, nada.

I talk like I think and I write like I talk...which for those of you who know me well, my thoughts are random and not always obviously connected, yet in my own mind they do have a logical connection. So, this is primarily a training thoughts blog, not necessarily a blog on my views of the world and if you're reading this, you are probably already familiar with my views!

Long story short: I'm training for Ironman Florida, (www.ironmanflorida.com) it's Saturday, November 3rd--and i'm excited to have a place to write down my training thoughts and keep my triathlon and non-triathlon friends and family in the loop! Please feel free to leave me comments, i'll be looking for them!

Oh and if you are new to the triathlon world, an Ironman is composed of the following: 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and a 26.2 mile run. The race begins at 7:00 a.m. and I have until midnight to complete it. I've been asked is there a time that I would like to finish in and the answer is yes! I won't lie, this is my blog right? So, i'd like to finish in 13 hours or less....and I don't want to "just finish" because I'm not so sure I'll be doing an Ironman again, so I'd rather give it my all while I am motivated!

Here I am again ...anonymous....I think when you are finished you can print what you have written and you WILL have a JOURNAL.Also if you find time...when Dave is on for 48 hours it may be fun to start from the beginning ,going back to how you got into this "mess" in the first place and where you have been since then.
Love pop

Mer....I love your blog. Thanks for sharing. I enjoy your daily training. You've give me great ideas on how to share what I do with my non triathlete family. We really do speak a different language. Your blog is also hilarious
