View from the Museum of Science this past weekend.
Soren this morning looking at the snow!
2. Flip up my windshield wipers so they don't freeze in the "down" position....little things you learn while living in cold weather without a garage.
3. Realizing that i'm really in the city when I can't take the grocery cart out to my car.....they don't allow it, so I leave my groceries and the store puts them on a conveyer belt and some dude in a garage down below puts them in my car for me.....never know if I need to tip, so I always do and they seem gracious.
4. Not all jackets are created equal. Enough said.
5. I've learned to carry up my perishable groceries and leave the others in the car to bring up later, or have Dave bring up....can't carry all of it up three flights with Soren who now insists on "walking" up the stairs...patience is a virtue, correct?
6. That no matter what people say, the Mexican food here just doesn't even come close and i've been polite and i've said "Ohhh, it was great"..when really, all I want is Mama Testa's or Sombrero from San Diego.
7. I don't mind having the Charles River to look at instead of the ocean....it was gorgeous the other night from the Science Museum, looking out at the river...peaceful!
8. I genuinely missed the cold and snow while living in San Diego.
9. I've loved getting to know new people and having little buddies for Soren that are so close by to our house!
10. I'm more adaptable to change than I thought, or that I give myself credit for...

Great post. Love the pics and the changes you've adapted to so well. We were very excited about the Seahawks win over here in Washington!
This was an awesome post...I had no idea about the conveyor belt thing at the grocery store!
I've learned since my many years of running the Boston Marathon to always pack all your stuff in a backpack because going down the stairs at the T along with being sore and carrying a suitcase just doesn't work. I see you're learning the same thing with a stroller.
Good post! one more thing to learn: perishables do not go bad in the car when it is freezing outside...:)
Glad to know you aren't completely hating the cold and the snow here. ;-)
A converyor belt for groceries? wow. What if like a can of peas rolls out of your bag - can it jam the entire convyer belt? Like how a stuck bowling ball can jam up the ball return? Some many questions that need to be answered? "(-:
i remember living in family housing on the CU campus when i was finishing my doctorate. rain was just over a year - and had weighed in at 30 lbs. at her year check-up)....of course, she didn't walk to just after 18 months. we lived on the 3rd floor too...i swear that i got super fit going up and down those stairs :)
I've only been to Boston in December so that weather is all I know. I am so glad you enjoy it.
I'm sure it's been a change, but it definitely sounds like you are adapting well! :)
The whole grocery thing is so foreign to me... I can't imagine not bringing my cart to the car! :)
ahhh Boston, I miss it up there! Great post!
I'm still learning about leaving the windshield wipers up, and I GREW UP here!!! Mer, I think you guys are doing a fabulous job adapting to living in good ol' Beantown - and you're right, the Mexican got nothin' on SD, but we'll take what we can!!!
xoxo
HA! Ironically you are in Boston during one of their snowiest winters too! :) It is such a great town! Glad you are enjoying it...maybe I can move from chicago to SD and see how well I like SD. hmm. :) ha!
You missed "snow and cold"? Seriously? -2 here in Chicago today. I can honestly say if I left it, I wouldn't miss it. ;)
